Yesterday’s trash is today’s resource

Waste from manufacturing and used plastic items was long considered to be dirty, poor quality material. Only virgin material was good enough. Today we know better. Recycled plastic material is a recovered resource and a highly sought-after raw material.

ReMaT Group was founded in 1980 by Roberto Morganti in Prato, Tuscany, with a clear vision: to give new life to plastic through recycling. From those first years, the company has grown steadily, opening a second site in Lucca, which today serves as the headquarters.

Remaining true to its original mission, ReMaT Group has established itself as a pioneer in the recycling of plastic materials, anticipating a market that, at the time, was still in its infancy. While many saw only waste, our founder recognized an untapped resource with the potential to shape a more sustainable future.

Today, thanks to over 40 years of experience, ReMaT Group has become an international player in the sector, operating across Europe through its subsidiaries. The company now employs more than 250 people and, in 2024, achieved a turnover exceeding €60 million.

Our story is one of determination and foresight: qualities that have allowed us to overcome market challenges and secure a strong competitive advantage. What began as a small Tuscan initiative is now a group capable of providing innovative and sustainable solutions to industries throughout Europe, with one constant: the belief that recycling is not only possible, but necessary for the future.

Ungrinded plastic components like plastic film, non-wovens, fiber, regrind, dust and shavings from sawing or milling. They are all resources we can use to make plastic compounds. By grinding and regranulating products that would otherwise go to waste, we expand our sources of plastic raw material.
